Stories from the Medieval and Renaissance City

City of Players - A Day in the Life

Brave world! Hostess, my breakfast, come!

Oh, I could wish this tavern were my drum.

This is a true bread and butter tour as we take a look at the everyday lives of Elizabethan and Jacobean players.  All the juicy stuff, from their residences, offices and taverns, is covered in this extensive ramble through the city.

We traverse this bustling part of London the way Shakespeare and company would have -  footing it through the same streets as they, taking the same routes from home to work to tavern.

Included is the medieval gatehouse where Shakespeare would have passed his plays through the censor.  We also see the site of his homes and favourite tavern among many other delights.

The tour takes approximately two hours and meets at Farringdon Station.

£5:00 per person.
